The Read-Write Web

  • Web 2.0 was a term generated by the media to help ease the fears of those who had become wary of the Internet after the 2001 dot.com bust.
  • A multitude of Web 2.0 tools (like blogs and wikis) have been designed to make the World Wide Web "the" place to visit to interact and collaborate with others.
  • Because of the collaborative nature of many Web 2.0 tools, they have become a popular way for educators to integrate technology into the classroom.
